Our Foundation
Buddy, Moose & Mandy
CH. Shoefly's
Bud Light

"Buddy" was our first AKC
Champion. He was a great
boy with an superior
temperament. At the first
show after he became a
Champion Buddy was Group
Four (pictured). Although he
never sired a litter, Buddy
was still one of our favorite
because he was a true buddy
to us. Though he was rather
small for a basset, his
passing left a big void in our
hearts. Buddy wagged his tail
until the very end.
CH. Shoefly's
Royal Moosehead
"Moose" is a very sweet basset.
We were very fortunate when Sue
Shoemaker of Shoefly Bassets
allowed us to have the pick of
seven boys in his litter. We
selected him because he had the
temperament, bone and loose
skin, "type," that we wanted as the
foundation of our line. He has
more than lived up to our
expectations and produced some
exceptional basset hounds.
Moose is now the grandfather of
three litters. Bonnie had five,
Moxie had nine and Joy had eight.
He is also the great grandfather
of four puppies from Snowy one of
Bonnie's puppies. Moose is dearly
missed, but he left a great legacy
of children, grandchildren and
now great grandchildren.

Mountain Dew
"Mandy" is our first female. She
was also our first Specialty
winner (pictured). We bought her
to compliment Moose because
we especially loved her
movement, her front and the
spunk she showed in the show
ring. Mandy produced two
excellent puppies out of Moose
and is now only shown in the
Veteran Class.
She's enjoying
being a grandmother.
